More Scaffolding on Gonzo’s Royal Flush as Monstropolis Work Continues at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

There’s more scaffolding in the former Muppets Courtyard at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and crews continue to remove brickwork and more from the various facades.

More scaffolding has been installed along the front of Gonzo’s Royal Flush, between the entrance and PizzeRizzo. In our last update, it was just on the side. Like the other buildings in Muppets Courtyard, Gonzo’s Royal Flush will be reimagined for the new land. It houses the area’s restrooms.

Over the past few weeks, prop pipes and brickwork have been removed from the walls. The sign was removed back in December.

We also noticed some of the yellow infrastructure showing on one of the show buildings right behind the clock tower.

Speaking of the clock tower, we did notice a crew member present in a lift working on removing the brick on the back side.

Pictured above is what the former Muppet Vision theater currently looks like as far as brick removal. The brick removal seems to correspond with a new marquee and decorations seen in Monstropolis concept art.

More crew members were actively working on other areas of the former Muppet Courtyard. Person on a ladder working on the underneath portion of an awning.

We also noticed white scrim and boarded windows on other buildings toward the back of the courtyard.

A concept art poster for Monsters, Inc. Land is displayed on a red construction wall at Disney's Hollywood Studios.

The main attraction of the new land will be the Monsters, Inc. door coaster, under construction in a Cast Member parking lot.

Though Muppets Courtyard is no more, the Muppets will soon take over Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster on the other side of the park.
