Crews have started painting nature-inspired murals on the exterior of Disney Lakeshore Lodge, a new Disney Vacation Club resort under construction at Walt Disney World. This is the first real theming we’ve seen added to the resort.

One mural is underway on a tall section of wall paneling facing Bay Lake. Green paint creates thin trees with foliage spreading out at the top.

Similar foliage-inspired paint is visible at the top of a wider wall. The style is similar to murals on Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows. Both murals are on walls facing the courtyard behind the lobby.

This area seems to be the furthest along with several gray-green walls completed. It’s the closest section to Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort.

Final balcony railings have been installed at several rooms. Some of the freshly-installed railings remain covered by protective sheets.

A tower on the eastern most wing is now enclosed with reflective glass. Columns down the side of the building are being painted gray.

At the other end of Lakeshore Lodge, there are still unfinished walls and temporary wood railings.

The A-frame cabins continue to come along. Long roof windows/skylights have been installed on the rooftops since our last construction update.

A crew member in a lift was working on one of the eastern cabins. Though their roofing and windows are apparently done, exterior paint still needs to be completed.

Though harder to see, the western cabins appear to be coming along at about the same pace. This cabin has a triangular window at the top front of its peaked roof.

On the other side of the building, some fencing has come down, giving us a better view of the resort’s bus depot. There are several overhangs with similar brown coloring to the resort itself.

Near the resort’s entrance, this tower has been covered in dark paneling.

Disney Lakeshore Lodge

In 2018, Disney announced Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge. However, construction was stalled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The resort was thought to be canceled before Disney resurrected the project as Disney Lakeshore Lodge in 2024.

It will be a fully Disney Vacation Club resort “inspired by the majesty of nature and its enduring influence on Disney artists,” including a lazy river in The Wetlands pool area.

Lakeshore Lodge is set to open in the summer of 2027.
