Walt Disney World
Magic Kingdom
- There have been issues occurring at Pirates of the Caribbean as of late, with the attraction being down for hours at a time over the last few weeks, and today the attraction has failed to open at all
- We bundled up and came out to the Magic Kingdom to see what new things we could find to show you, and we’re glad we did because there’s a lot to see in our most recent photo report
EPCOT
- We have been keeping you updated on the future World Celebration neighborhood construction thus far and now, the World Nature neighborhood construction is underway as the waterways between The Land and The Seas pavilions have been drained, an action that is necessary to make way for the Moana-themed Journey of Water walkthrough experience
- Spring has sprung at EPCOT and that means construction has begun on this year’s Goodness Garden Butterfly House for the Taste of EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival
- Some smaller floating barges have now joined the two large Harmonious barges in the World Showcase Lagoon at EPCOT, likely to be used for the pyrotechnics during the upcoming show (or at least to test some of the fireworks shells for the show)
- Beginning February 17th, the Rose & Crown Dining Room at the United Kingdom Pavillion at EPCOT will be closing for routine refurbishment, set to last through early Spring
Disney’s Animal Kingdom
- Flame Tree Barbecue in Disney’s Animal Kingdom has a new Valentine’s Day cupcake available for the rest of February, inspired by the “Can You Feel the Love Tonight?” scene from The Lion King and features Simba and Nala
- We made our way to Dino-Bite Snacks at Disney’s Animal Kingdom to try their latest offering: a Valentine Ice Cream Sandwich
Other Walt Disney World News
- Local 385, a Teamsters union including Walt Disney World costumed character-performers and workers across Central Florida, has faced accusations of bad management and member dissatisfaction and is now fighting to reinstate its officers, as outlined in a new lawsuit
Disneyland Resort
- Recently Walt Disney World updated their mask policy to clarify that guests who have been vaccinated for COVID-19 are still required to wear face masks and now there has been an update to Disneyland Resort’s mask policy to reflect that statement
- Starting Friday, Feb. 5, guests can once again enjoy outdoor dining at Carthay Circle Lounge – Alfresco Dining, with its seasonal menu and unique dining environment on Buena Vista Street, and reservations are available today
- With an opening date of February 19, the transformation of the Rainforest Café building into the new Star Wars Trading Post is nearly complete and the latest enhancement to the storefront at the Downtown Disney District features a life-size version of Rey’s speeder
New Merchandise
- Walt Disney Animation Studio’s newest animated film Raya and the Last Dragon is set to release in a few months, and now we can get a first look at the new merchandise line for the movie that was just released on shopDisney
- We gave a peek at the newest collection yesterday and now the Limited Release “it’s a small world” Wishables plush collection has arrived at Disney Parks and shopDisney
- We found a couple brand new MagicBand designs at MouseGear at EPCOT today featuring all-over silver glitter and Daisy Duck on the Annual Passholder 2021 “Mad Tea Party” band
- This new big feet Donald Duck plush was available at Disneyland Resort a little over a week ago, and he can now be purchased at Walt Disney World as well
- Three brand new pins were just released at the Disneyland Resort — one commemorates the upcoming 20th Anniversary of Disney California Adventure, another is a Limited Edition Chinese New Year pin, and the third is a Limited Edition Disney Dream Destinations Agrabah pin
- Three new limited release MagicBands have arrived at Walt Disney World Resort with designs featuring Frontierland, Kingdom of Cute, and Recess: School’s Out
WDW News Today
- This week on ParksCenter, we take a look at the new Star Wars Trading Post coming to Downtown Disney in California in the old Rainforest Café location; a permit that may signal the final straw for Primeval Whirl in Disney’s Animal Kingdom; and the announcement that the Three Caballeros won’t be back to Gran Fiesta Tour in Epcot anytime soon
