- Revised health and safety protocols once again allowed guests to fill their own cups starting in late April and now Sunshines Seasons, one of EPCOT’s most popular quick-service locations, is partaking in self-service beverage stations once again
Disney Springs
- Disney Springs is celebrating Asian Pacific American Heritage Month with limited-time offerings so we stopped by The Daily Poutine to see what they have to offer—and we’re so glad we did!
- We discovered Gideon Bakehouse’s new cookie for May, Asian Pacific American Heritage Month Food, and more in our photo report
Walt Disney World Resort Hotels
- Guests may once again enter via the courtyard on the Crescent Lake side of Disney’s Beach Club Resort as the courtyard refurbishment that began in early March has concluded, revealing a revitalized entrance
- Two Mother’s Day desserts are available for a limited time at Beach Club Marketplace inside Disney’s Beach Club Resort: a Mother’s Day Bouquet Cupcake and a “Sweeter Than Roses” Raspberry Mousse that are sure to bring a smile to mom’s face
Other Walt Disney World News
- In January, Disney announced specially priced Discover Disney Tickets that were exclusive to Florida Residents and now Guests holding 3- or 4-day tickets have noticed that the expiration date to use these tickets has been extended in My Disney Experience from June 18, 2021 to July 14, 2021
- After Orange County, Florida Mayor Jerry Demings announced plans to change the county’s COVID-19 executive order with Phase 1 already in effect, Orlando International Airport (MCO) has reduced its physical distancing measures from six feet to three feet apart
Disneyland Resort
Disneyland Park
- Splash Mountain has reopened along Disneyland Park and we’ve decided to take the plunge today and say hello to an attraction that is set to get a retheme to The Princess and the Frog in an effort to become more inclusive and “represent transformative cultural change”
- Howdy, partners! We are excited to be back at Disneyland Park after it reopened on Friday so we headed to Frontierland to experience the wildest ride in the wilderness, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, taking note of the new physical distancing practices put in place
- Characters are making physically distanced appearances at Disneyland, which reopened Friday and we got to say “hi” to Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and Goofy in Mickey’s Toontown
- Le Bat en Rouge in New Orleans Square has closed for conversion into a new quick-service dining location with a possible The Princess and the Frog theme
- We enjoyed a nice lunch at the River Belle Terrace, which reopened with the Disneyland Resort with both indoor and outdoor seating

Disney California Adventure
- Although MARVEL Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure does not open until June 4, 2021, guests can get a hint of some of the new land’s theming elements as a large Avengers sign has been installed near Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! as part of a barrier to separate Avengers Campus and Hollywood Land
- When we visited Disney California Adventure for the “A Touch of Disney” ticketed event in March, we noted work being done at The Little Mermaid — Ariel’s Undersea Adventure and now the attraction’s exterior refurbishment is now complete, just in time to greet guests back to the theme park
Disney Cruise Line
- Disney Cruise Line has now extended its “Cruise Date Flexibility” offer through May 31, 2021, giving Guests more flexible cancellation options for cruises departing through October 31, 2021
New Merchandise
- New on-trend tie-dye cropped hoodies and shorts have arrived at Walt Disney World Resort featuring some familiar faces
- Part of Disney’s Earth Month celebration included the introduction of reusable cutlery and now the three-piece set has now made its debut at Red Rose Taverne in Disneyland Park
The Walt Disney Company
- According to a new lawsuit, Marvel Entertainment and Disney are being sued by Montreal-based Horizon Comics, alleging that they ripped off their designs
WDW News Today
- WDWNT is hiring Orlando-based Reporters to visit the Walt Disney World parks several days a week during the morning and afternoon to report on new developments in construction, food and beverage offerings, merchandise, and more
