EPCOT

- With Disney slated to take over the Morocco Pavilion after a tumultuous restart post-pandemic, starting today, most restaurants and merchandise locations within the pavilion that were previously open are now temporarily closed
- Work on the shops and restaurants has already begun as today when we stopped by to check on the Morocco Pavilion, painting was going on inside Spice Road Table’s dining area
- We’ve been keeping a close eye on the new entrance fountain in front of Spaceship Earth at EPCOT for several months and today we noticed that the fountain, which has three lucite pylons in the center, was running when we passed by
- The ongoing demolition of Innoventions West seems to be moving especially fast, meaning the structure, which has stood since the park opened in 1982, could soon be coming down
Walt Disney World Resort Hotels
- Construction at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort has been moving along steadily as part of its massive refurbishment, so we thought it was time to pay another visit and see how things are going
Other Walt Disney World News
- In May, UNITE HERE Local 737, a union for Cast Members, opened an Orlando food bank for laid-off Cast Members but unfortunately, the food bank is now in danger of closing due to a lack of food and financial support

- According to Fox 35 Orlando, AdventHealth, the health provider and official partner of Walt Disney World, held a briefing this morning where it was announced that COVID-19 vaccinations could be distributed as early as Monday or Tuesday of next week with FDA approval, which would grant emergency use authorization for the vaccine
Tokyo Disney Resort
- Duffy the Disney Bear, the cuddly teddy bear friend of Mickey Mouse, is a staple at Tokyo DisneySea, and now that he has made his way to a new home in Lost River Delta, we won a chance to meet Duffy at the dock, and you can join us for some adorable moments with Duffy in his special sombrero and poncho outfit
Hong Kong Disneyland
- Thanks to Disney Magical Kingdom Blog, we have an aerial look at the construction of Arendelle: World of Frozen at Hong Kong Disneyland
New Merchandise
- Disneyland Resort has two new youth knitted sweaters featuring Mickey and Minnie Mouse, respectively, that are sure to keep the kids warm this winter
- As 2020 draws to a close, Disney Parks are gearing up for 2021 and releasing new 2021 merchandise frequently, including these new photo albums, photo frames, magnets, and more that we found today at Disney Springs
Entertainment and Media
- During the Marvel Studios segment of tonight’s Disney Investor Day 2020 event, Kevin Feige talked about the tragic loss of Chadwick Boseman and the impact on the upcoming “Black Panther 2,” and confirms that they will not recast the role of T’Challa
Disney+

- During today’s Investor Day stream, it was announced that in March 2021 Disney+ will be raising its monthly U.S. pricing by $1 a month to $7.99/month
- The Walt Disney Company announced in their Investor Day stream that Disney+ has surpassed 86.8 million subscribers as of December 2
- Also on the Investor Day stream, chairman of the Media and Entertainment Distribution division of The Walt Disney Company Kareem Daniel announced the upcoming Raya and the Last Dragon will be coming to Disney+ Premier Access alongside its theater release on March 5, 2021
- Kathleen Kennedy announced on the Investors Day stream that two new “Star Wars” Original Series will be coming to Disney+: “Ahsoka” and “Rangers of the New Republic”
- Two years after being announced, it was announced during the Investor Day stream that the Cassian Andor series will be coming to Disney+ in 2022, and a sizzle reel was also released, as well as the title of the series — “Andor”
- During today’s investor call, Disney announced that the “Obi-Wan Kenobi” series is back on track after some setbacks, and it will be bringing a few familiar faces back to the screen, including Hayden Christensen as Darth Vader
- Announced today at Investor Day 2020, Star Wars will be debuting an all-new anime series titled “Star Wars: Visions” on Disney+ in 2021
- Also during the Disney Investor Day 2020 stream, Kathleen Kennedy announced that pre-production has begun on the fifth and final film in the Indiana Jones franchise in which Harrison Ford will reprise the role
- It was also announced on the investor call that the new “Beauty and the Beast: The Prequel Series” will be coming to Disney+, based off of the “Beauty and the Beast” live-action film

- After years of rumors, it is finally happening: Hocus Pocus 2 was confirmed today on the Investor Day stream, and it will be coming to Disney+
- Chip and Dale are returning in a hybrid live-action-animated feature of “Chip ‘n’ Dale Rescue Rangers,” to be directed by Akiva Schaffer and starring John Mulaney and Andy Samberg, and coming to Disney+
- On the heels of Warner Bros. announcing all their 2021 films would be available on HBO Max, Disney has now announced that the upcoming live-action film, Pinocchio, will be released straight to Disney+
- Disenchanted, a long-awaited sequel to the 2007 hit film Enchanted, will stream exclusively on Disney+
- Disney Animation’s first-ever original animated series are coming to Disney+, with “Baymax!,” “Zootopia+,” and “Tiana” coming in 2022, and “Moana, the Series,” in 2023
- Set in Colombia, Disney’s “Encanto” is set to become Walt Disney Animation Studios’ 60th animated film in Fall 2021 featuring music by Lin-Manuel Miranda
- Disney has announced three upcoming new Pixar series coming to Disney+: “Dug Days”, “Cars”, and “Win or Lose”
- When WandaVision comes to Disney+ on January 15, 2021, it will be the first original Marvel series to debut on the platform and will kickstart phase four of the MCU and today, during Investor Day 2020, Disney and Marvel Studios released the final trailer for the anticipated series

- Pixar has just announced an all-new “Toy Story” film, one like you’ve never seen before, as in Disney and Pixar’s “LIGHTYEAR”, you’ll get to explore the origins of Buzz Lightyear, voiced by Chris Evans
- Marvel Studios has just announced that Jon Watts will direct the new feature film for Marvel’s First Family, Fantastic Four, now in development
- This evening during the Marvel portion of the Investor Day 2020 event, the long-awaited “Loki” series was given a May 2021 release date
- Marvel Studios’ President Kevin Feige showed investors an exclusive first look at the highly anticipated Disney+ series “The Falcon and The Winter Soldier”

- Despite the Disney Parks, Experiences and Products segment recording a loss of $1.1 billion in Q4 2020, during today’s Investor Day 2020, shares of The Walt Disney Company reached their highest-ever closing price at $154.43 a share
