Walt Disney World
Magic Kingdom
- Construction walls have been erected around the Cool Ship kiosk and adjacent Cool Scanner in Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom
- To prepare for “The World’s Most Magical Celebration” at Walt Disney World, many Magic Kingdom attractions and buildings are being refreshed before the park’s 50th anniversary and during today’s visit, we noticed that some of the paint on the Tangled restrooms in Fantasyland seem more vibrant than before
- As the “EARidescent” turrets and roofing of Cinderella Castle in Magic Kingdom are repainted back to blue, it seems some of the Fantasyland roofing is getting the same treatment
- Three new bagged snacks have debuted at the Magic Kingdom today and all three are marked as nut-free and gluten-free, so those with allergies or sensitivities have more options when those cravings hit while at the theme park
- In our photo report, we find a shuttered Main Street Confectionery, reopened Main Street Cinema and Box Office Gifts, Casey Jr. Splash ‘n’ Soak Station refurbishment, a new rainbow Minnie ear headband, and more
- After the recent completion of the canopy frame, crews continued to remove the temporary supports that had supported the frame during construction and now progress continues on the removal in multiple areas
EPCOT
- Since reopening after COVID-19 closures, the Disney Parks have been no stranger to pandemic related precautions such as hand sanitizing stations, capacity limits and physical distancing markers, and now Journey Into Imagination with Figment has added some new markers to its load area, keeping guests a safe distance from each other
- We played around with MagicMobile, saw fireworks barges on the World Showcase Lagoon, find missing food, and more in our photo report
Disney’s Animal Kingdom
- With spring break crowds dwindling, Disney appears to be making some changes in anticipation for reduced crowds this upcoming week as Harambe Market will have reduced operating hours beginning April 5th
- A section of sidewalk has been blocked off for painting in Pandora — The World of Avatar, forcing the Na’Vi River Journey exterior queue to be rerouted
Other Walt Disney World News
- After only a short period of testing with Cast Members, Disney has rolled out the MagicMobile service to guests at the Walt Disney World Resort and those with Apple devices may already access the service via the menu in the MyDisneyExperience app to set up their digital ticket
- With the launch of the MagicMobile system at Walt Disney World today, guests can now use their smartphone as a digital ticket, and right now, the feature — available through the My Disney Experience app — allows guests to enter the theme parks, connect PhotoPass images, and gain access to the Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance virtual queue and guests will soon be able to charge purchases to their Disney Resort hotel room with the new service
- WDWNT.com was invited to preview Heritage Auctions’ “Art of the Disney Theme Park” auction in Dallas, Texas and we have a video tour of some of the highlights
- The makeover of the World Drive entrance to Walt Disney World is almost complete as the Goofy, Donald, and Mickey marquees were repainted in the past several weeks, and now work is wrapping up on Minnie’s marquee.
- According to a post on Unite Here Local 362’s Facebook page, Disney will be paying certain Walt Disney World Cast Members for obtaining one of the available COVID-19 vaccines
Disneyland Resort
- Orange County and Los Angeles County, California will both be moving from the red reopening tier to the orange tier as of Wednesday, March 31 and with this move, theme parks will be able to operate at a 25% maximum capacity instead of 15%
Tokyo Disney Resort
- After Big Band Beat began holding “open rehearsals” yesterday at Tokyo DisneySea, the Oriental Land Company has decided today to expand this to the brand new Mickey’s Magical Music World show at the Fantasyland Forest Theatre in Tokyo Disneyland, coming ahead of its rumored April 1st debut that was accidentally revealed and taken down last week on the Tokyo Disney Resort website
New Merchandise
- There is some new Disneyland-branded apparel now available at Downtown Disney District and these Disneyland Resort branded items are great for lounging or keeping comfy during a day in the parks
Entertainment and Media
Disney+
- We compiled a list of everything coming to Disney+ in May 2021, Star Wars: The Bad Batch, Cruella, The Mighty Ducks: Game Changer Finale, and more
- Star Wars Junkies have a lot to look forward to this May the Fourth because Disney+ will begin streaming their second Star Wars series, Star Wars: The Bad Batch and as it takes place after Star Wars: The Clone Wars, this animated series follows a “Bad Batch” of clones in the aftermath of the Clone Wars
