Walt Disney World
Magic Kingdom
- Last week we reported that the last of the beautiful buntings has been added to the first level of Cinderella Castle, and today on our visit, we noticed the first turret-cap decoration added to the castle
- The Casey Jr. Splash ‘N’ Soak Station has been under refurbishment for the past few weeks as Magic Kingdom is refreshed ahead of its 50th anniversary this October and following the repainting of the train cars, work has now begun on repainting the train engine
- After construction walls went up at the end of last month, we finally saw progress on the Coca-Cola Cool Ship and the Cool Scanner yesterday at the Magic Kingdom as painting has continued with more sleek new updates to the Tomorrowland drink stand
- As we reported earlier this week, you could say Trader Sam lost his head… and the rest of his body as the animatronic was removed completely from the Jungle Cruise, and work seems to be occurring overnight, with the former Trader’s site draped in camouflage dressing during the day
- There’s more to celebrate at the Magic Kingdom as Mulan and Moana have joined the character lineup for meet-and-greets and cavalcades
- While Winnie the Pooh has been spotted on the Fantasyland Friends Cavalcade, today we spotted the silly old bear and Tigger walking right down the middle of Main Street U.S.A. with his hundred acre wood pals on the Main Street Trolley
- Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom closed permanently on January 24th, 2021 and since then, we have seen the game’s headquarters removed from the Main Street Firehouse and the Main Street Cinema portal removed and now another portal has joined the Sorcerers in the sky as construction walls are up around the former portal site at the Main Street Railroad Station
- New track continues to be laid at the Walt Disney World Railroad’s Fantasyland station in Storybook Circus
- Over at the TRON Lightcycle Run construction site, we saw today that several more of the large support towers, which held the lighted canopy frame up while it was being built, have been removed as the frame is now entirely self-supporting
Disney’s Hollywood Studios
- MVP Tom Brady landed on Batuu earlier this week while visiting Disney’s Hollywood Studios and during his visit to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, he was “treated” to taste the two beverages notorious around Black Spire Outpost — Blue and Green Milk
Disney’s Animal Kingdom
- Right in time for the Earth Month celebrations, a new 40-ton sand sculpture on Discovery Island Stage showcases a new National Geographic series entitled “Secrets of the Whales”
- To celebrate the 15th anniversary of Expedition Everest today, why not stop by the Anandapur Ice Cream Truck for a Yeti Sundae — the second treat themed to Expedition Everest to debut this month at Animal Kingdom
Walt Disney World Resort Hotels
- A new, limited-time treat is available now at Gasparilla Island Grill at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa — an adorable Earth Day Honey Bee Miniature Gateau that is almost too cute to eat (but too tasty to resist)
Other Walt Disney World News
- Despite the announcement yesterday that maskless photography would be permitted starting on April 8th, Disney’s PhotoPass photographers allowed (and encouraged) guests to remove their masks this morning

- At Black Tap Craft Burgers & Shakes in the Downtown Disney District of Disneyland Resort, you can find this new Mickey Mouse Strawberry Shake
