Walt Disney World
Magic Kingdom
- While the repainting of Cinderella Castle continues, roofing in Fantasyland is also being repainted to match the new hue in preparation for Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary
- With Easter just around the corner, Mr. and Mrs. Easter Bunny have returned to the Magic Kingdom and can be found on the right side of Cinderella Castle for physically distanced photo-ops
- Now that the final piece of bunting was added to Cinderella Castle, the icon’s 50th anniversary makeover is moving up and the crane to install decorations higher up will be pulling into Magic Kingdom soon, so construction walls have been erected around where it will sit
- Work on laying new track for The Walt Disney World Railroad is picking up, and it seems that Disney might try to have this project done in time for Magic Kingdom’s 50th anniversary celebration
EPCOT
- With Disney taking over ownership of the Morocco Pavilion in EPCOT, small changes have been made here-and-there around the area, and now it appears some larger changes are in the works as construction walls have been erected blocking off the back half of the pavilion
- The heat has finally taken a break for a few days, and we made good use of the cooler weather by checking out both EPCOT and Disney’s Animal Kingdom today in this most recent photo report
- More progress has been made on the future site of MouseGear on the south side of the former Innoventions East, as window coverings have been removed allowing a sneak peek at the Communicore-skylight-style lighting fixtures inside
- Today, we went in search of Easter treats at Walt Disney World and made our way to Landscape of Flavors at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort to give the Easter EGGS-traordinaire Cupcake a try
- Today we discovered something a little bit different on the Living with the Land boat tour at EPCOT — the addition of scaffolding
- Come along with us for this most recent photo report as we see what’s new and what’s good across the world and into the future at EPCOT
Disney’s Animal Kingdom
- For the month of April, Walt Disney World is celebrating Earth Month with limited-time bites and sips at Disney’s Animal Kingdom and for our first specialty drink to honor Mother Nature, we headed to Satu’li Canteen at Pandora – The World of Avatar for the new Kiwi Margarita
Walt Disney World Resort Hotels
- There have been rumors since last year that construction was stalled or canceled on Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge at Walt Disney World, and a newly filed permit from Walt Disney Imagineering supports that rumor
- The Mara at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge—which reopened during the holidays and has remained open for breakfast only—will now be open for dinner
- The arrival of Easter weekend is bursting with surprises as this delicious Limited Time Easter Marshmallow Soft Serve Ice Cream has just arrived at Pineapple Lanai in Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
Other Walt Disney World News
- While most guests have been happy to follow Disney’s COVID-19 safety protocol, some have been more confrontational — one guest in particular protested his arrest after he skipped the mandatory temperature screening and refused to comply with security
- Last week, the design for Walt Disney World’s first-ever specialty license plate was revealed and thankfully, the plate has reached its pre-sale goal meaning it will go into production
- According to new recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) fully vaccinated Americans can travel both domestically and internationally “at low risk to themselves” provided they are taking precautions including wearing a mask, physical distancing, and washing hands often
- Operating hours for all four Walt Disney World theme parks have been extended for select days in late April
- As he indicated he would do, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has signed an Executive Order prohibiting Florida-issued “vaccine passports”
Disneyland Resort
- With Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure reopening on April 30, Disney has released specific guidelines for purchasing tickets
- We may not be able to hang out in New Orleans Square just yet, but that doesn’t mean we can’t get a taste of that French Quarter fare so we decided to swing by Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen Express in Downtown Disney District to try out their new Bananas Foster Glazed Beignets
New Merchandise
- There’s a new Disney Parks mini backpack by Loungefly featuring Disney/Pixar’s Inside Out now available at Disneyland Resort
- Now you can bring a tiny version of everyone’s favorite teacup ride vehicle along with you wherever you go with this new Mad Tea Party spinning top from the Disneyland Resort
